Applies to: United States.
Changes in property-tax or insurance costs, or an escrow shortage, can change the collection on a US home account that uses escrow. Ask Customer Care for an itemized breakdown and the effective date so you can identify what changed on your account.
Request confirmation of:
- The investor payment, any escrow collection and any separate Ijara administration charge included in the total.
- Which adjustments have already been applied and which are still awaiting review, such as a tax exemption or insurance change.
- The amount and date of the next scheduled withdrawal.
If you paid an escrow shortage separately, ask whether that payment was received, how it was applied and whether the revised collection reflects it. If you already pay property taxes or insurance separately, explain that and ask how to provide the relevant evidence securely.
Request the updated escrow analysis when applicable. If you also need a regular monthly statement, ask for it separately; an escrow analysis and a monthly statement answer different questions. An expected reduction is not a confirmed new collection amount, so obtain the current figure before relying on it.
